The edits on this collection are what I’d call a beautiful accident. Somewhat. Here’s what happened. In my journey thus far, with each edit, I’ve been creatin’ presets. That bein’ said, I’ve found presets are not a ‘one size fits all’. Maybe that’s because I’m still learnin’ the trade, or maybe that’s a true statement a professional photographer can attest to. Feel free to hit me up ‘n’ drop some knowledge on me. I’m still a padawan happy to gain wisdom. I’m already veerin’ off course so before we end up in a bush at the end of the wrong turn, let’s get the introduction out the way. Today I present to you: DemzVisuals: Jerome.
I‘ll be the first to say it. Historically, I’ve kinda been the self-titled ‘lone-wolf’ of the family. I won’t bore you or incriminate myself with the details, but it is what it is. Keepin’ it one hunna, for me, the notion of ‘family’ is somethin’ I’ve kinda always taken for granted. Which is strange considerin’ the affinity I have with some of history’s and pop culture’s greatest heroes/anti heroes. Despite their hamartia, they had one thing in common: family. To take for granted an institution which some are not privileged to have is kinda bad. Maybe it’s due to my ‘advancin’ age (I’m still relatively young), my sense of some day perhaps wantin’ my own, or seein’ my youngers growin’ into their own, the ‘lone-wolf’ has realised his own hamartia. To quote the legend George R. R. Martin: “when the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives.” Today I introduce to you: Demz Visuals: Rem ‘n’ Fem.
At the point of writin’ this (22.08.19 @ 7:27pm), the decision to set up a photography Insta is probably about an hour into it’s new life. Upon speakin’ to a close one, the realisation was made abundantly clear, set somethin’ up seperate from my other projects to showcase multiple skill-sets. And I agree. As mentioned last week, “you’re never too old to learn somethin new”. I can’t stress this enough. I already mention the reasons for gettin’ back into photography last week so I shan’t bore you with repetition. Instead… lend me your attention for a few minutes ‘n’ let’s touch on somethin’ new. We won’t be here long.
